Birthday Boy in Nashville

6:30 am July 17th - Mom and I head out with Julian and Tate for Nashville to visit Lucy and Lilli. After a 12 hour journey we finally arrived to "The Mermaid House". Here's Granmommy with 4 of 6 of her grandbabies.

July 18th we woke up to celebrate Little Man Tate's 2nd b-day. Aunt Didi surprised us with homemade crowns and capes for the birthday prince and his entourage.

The boys had their first tea party with Lilli. They all decided to act like kittens to drink their water.

The kids spent several hours every day we were there in the play pool.
While they were swimming, we spent A Lot of time on the porch. It was wonderful summertime memories. We can't wait till next year's trip.

Pool Party

There was a great party last night at Poppy & CC's to celebrate the arrival of Matt (Michael's cousin Becky's husband) from Hawaii. He is in the Navy and has been out to sea. Becky and their 1 year old daughter came home to Texas to stay with Aunt Janice because after this week he is going right back out to sea for 6 more months. The guest of honor had a flight delay so he didn't get to join all of us till after 8 instead of at 3 as we had hoped. A majority of the party stayed late so we go to spend some time with him. Today a group of us braved the heat and went out to Six Flags to get in some more fun together (and I forgot my camera so don't have any pictures of that...).


















CC got thrown in the pool by none other than her darling husband. She made the most of it as always and had some play time with the kiddos.

Fun in Houston

The boys and I had been home for over 24 hours after our extended 4th of July weekend/almost week...so we decided it was time to hit the road again. Last Tuesday we called Alli to see what she was up to and she said nothing, come on down. I guess we're trying to make the most of our summer break and do as much as possible (since we leave for Tennessee this coming week). We had a fun time with Alli and her girls and did quite a bit while we were there. One thing I don't have any pictures of is our trip to Chuck E. Cheese for an early celebration of Tate's b-day. That and me getting my nap on every day while I was there :) You can't do that when you're at your own house, there's too much to do during that precious quiet 2 hours. It's great to come home from a trip feeling rested...

Tate & Georgie are 5 months apart but the gap is quickly closing. Here they are enjoying some peaches Uncle E picked up at a fruit stand on the way home.












Anyone who has spent any time with Julian knows that some of that time will be spent playing baseball. Here he is pitching to Uncle E. Not bad...

Our last day we went to Chick-Fil-A for "Cow Appreciation" day. If you dressed as a cow you received a free combo meal. Luckily my sister is a regular at this fine establishment. She had collected the cow hats and stickers that they'd been passing out to get ready for the big day. We dressed the boys as the cows and took Alli's two little girls as their CHIKIN sacrifices.

Yep, Alli is such a regular she even has a Chick-Fil-A hat that they cooks wear. We thought about making a day of it and hitting Chick-fil-a's across Houston. But we had to get home so I could get a nap in before heading back home.


























On my last night Alli and I went to see Wanted after the kids had gone to bed. Great movie, I read where they have signed James McAvoy up for 2 more sequels.
